Reaching the finish line…now what? As some you already know, at the age of 76 the time has come for me to wrap up the rowing business that I have happily developed since retiring as a newspaperman in 1995. The associations and the learning have combined for a wonderful experience; however, while mind and body are still intact, writing projects beckon that do not tolerate the distractions of the rowing business. And yet, since this decision, the phone continues to ring with inquiries about buying or leasing singe rowing shells. In the effort to respond in a positive way I have engaged in an association with a fellow rowing shell dealer and his wife. Please call or email me for referrals. Phone: (413) 358-0720; Email berksculling@aol.com Also…since I have received a number of positive comments about my advice on buying rowing shells that has been a part of this website since its beginning. Accordingly, that section, “Buying a rowing shell? Here’s what to think about” will continue as part of this website. Finally, in 2006 I self-published a full length biography of the late Ernestine Bayer, who started women’s rowing in the U.S. in face of opposition by the then all-male rowing community. Her life constituted a fascinating tale of struggle, then triumph. You may buy it from me directly or order it from www.amazon.com. Details are also on this website. Lew Cuyler
